Anton Bukanov is one of the brilliant young jazz players and composers of Russia, and, maybe, not only Russia. He has got many performances across Russia and abroad, participated in many international jazz festivals as a pianist, composer, arranger and even trumpeter.
Anton Bukanov has worked on the stage since 1990, when, for the first time, he performed the famous “Blue and Sentimental” by Count Basie during the Communist Party Conference and all the people presenting there were shocked and… started applauding. And after, musician has many various performances but he thinks that the real beginning of his career takes place in 2003, when he plays the first his solo concert. In 2004 Maestro (his Moscow Conservatory nickname) opens the series of historical solo concerts dedicated to the great jazz musicians of the past and the present time. After that the popularity of Bukanov’s performances has been growing, as steadily as, of course, also their audience.
The musician’s repertoire is very huge and maximally various. It includes works of traditional and modern jazz; the main part contains author’s personal compositions and arrangements of a different music including music of other styles, nations and ages.
Currently, Anton Bukanov performs with the solo programs, in the various ensembles and projects (see the page “PROJECTS”) The future – releasing CDs, expansion of repertoire and concerts’ geography.
Anton Bukanov was born on May 19, 1977 in city of Yaroslavl. At the age of six he started learning music.
